Village of Hammondsport Interviews DSD Web Works

January 4, 2018

The Village of Hammondsport board members and town personnel met with DSD Web Works today to discuss their need for a custom designed Content Managed System (CMS). Many questions were asked regarding the design, management, and procedure involved in creating a new site. We thank the village for the opportunity to explain our services and look forward to the possibility of working with the Village.

Town of Jerusalem Migrates to Google's Gmail

January 11, 2018

Today DSD Web Works helped coordinate the migration of mail services to Google's Gmail. Server alterations involved in CNAME and SPF record additions and modification were performed by DSD Web Works. The migration was successful and the Town is now utilizing Google services.

Finger Lakes Landlord Association Review

January 25, 2018

Administrative staff from Finger Lakes Landlord Association (FLLA) met today with DSD Web Works to review progress on their robust project on a complete rewrite of the FLLA managed applications. Progress is ahead of schedule and FLLA was very please on layouts, functionality, and ease of management of routine procedures.

Town of Urbana Receives Hands-On Training

February 6, 2018

Today Town of Urbana personnel received their first walk through of their new custom built website and administrative interface. In addition, the Town Clerk, Assit. Town Clerk, Supervisor, Bookkeeper got hands-on training working directly with the new content managed system that allows the Town to easily manage site content. The training session went very well and the Town is now well on their way to managing their new site. Once all information is updated and approved, the new site will be released to the public. We have enjoyed working with the Town who has been very responsive on replying to our requests during development. We look forward to our ongoing relationship.

CPR Migration Assistance - Village of Penn Yan

February 12, 2018

Today DSD Web Works completed a project for Village of Penn Yan that involves data migration. The Village used an old Continuing Property Records (CPR) program to manage their Utility assets. DSD Web Works converted an old FoxPro DBMS to a MySQL database. From here we wrote algorithms to manipulate the tables and combine data in order to convert from individual store, units and asset records to a single record for all assets that include store and unit historical records including work logs and financials. This will allow Town personnel to more easily convert to their new CPR program.

Cornell University Server Migration

February 14, 2018

Today Cornell University contacted DSD Web Works to help migrate a number of web assets from CIT servers to new virtual LAMP environments created by Media3. DSD Web Works advised on requirements needed for the various Cornell web properties and was asked to lead the various testing phases during transition to the new environment. We once again look forward to working with Cornell University.

Cornell University Server Migration Complete

March 20, 2018

Today DSD Web Works, Cornell University and Media3 successfully migrated a dozen Cornell University web assets including many applications and custom platforms to new updated servers. All testing has been completed and all applications are functioning as expected. It was a very smooth transition and Media3 was very responsive and professional during the migration.

FLLA General Assy. Meeting - New Platform Introduction

This evening, DSD Web Works had the pleasure of presenting the new Finger Lakes Landlord Association (FLLA) member platform to the association's general assembly. The presentation was packed with information and was the first time the association's members got to see first hand a working copy of the new custom built application. There was not enough time to allow for a complete review of the applications features so we focused specifically on member administrative functions.

The presentation went very well and the excited members gave us a very nice round of applause.

Town of Wayne - History Group Collection Rewrite

April 18, 2018

Today DSD Web Works completed the rewrite of the History Group's collection application. New additions included: Collection; Collection Type; Collection Room; Collection Location; Collection Sublocation; Collection How Acquired; Collection Acquisition Source; Collection Items can now be mapped to an Image (via Admin > Images); All new tables were populated with the designations you supplied via the Location Layout for History Room.xlsx file. Successful migration of previous collections within the database were completed.

Finger Lakes Landlord Association Members Interface Enhancments

Today DSD Web Works revealed that a multitude of application enhancements have been completed for the Finger Lakes Landlord Association (FLLA) platform. Minor bug fixes were completed and enhancements included the following functionality: Member and Tenant Search; Past Tenants; Admin Tenant Search; Admin Member interface; New Help interface; addition of Judgments; accounting reconciliation; email filtering; phone filtering; Service Provider enhancements; and many admin enhancements.

Hitachi Metals America Payment Portal

Today Hitachi Metals America, DSD Web Works and multiple representatives from JP Morgan Chase met to discuss the potential of a partnership developing a payment portal. Different technologies were discussed and desired approaches were expressed by DSD Web Works to the Chase group. Future collaborative efforts will be determined.

Town of Wayne - History Group

Today DSD Web Works revealed and reviewed new functionality to the Town's History Application. Enhancements included a complete Events administrative interface that also allows for cross-linking the groups image library to associated events.

Coach Sales System Enhancement - Add-On Assemblies

Today DSD Web Works completed an enhancement to Coach and Equipment's Sales System Configurator. The system now allows for the addition of Add-On assembly numbers to a given configuration. These are special one-time additions to address unique special engineering needs of a specific, and somewhat unusual, configuration.

Famous Brands Request New Closeout Functionality

Today Famous Brands contacted DSD Web Works to request the development of a new closeout functionality to their e-commerce platform. DSD Web Works was contracted to develop the ability to easily administrate product lines and/or specific products and assign them a closeout status. The front-end of the site will be modified so the consumer can easily identify these brand product closeouts.

DSD Web Works continues to enjoy the productive working relationship with Famous Brands that began in 2007!

Hitachi Metals America Contract for Stripe Based Payment Portal

May 24, 2018

Today Hitachi Metals America, Inc. (HMA) contracted with DSD Web Works to custom build a payment portal based on Stripe integration. The portal will allow HMA customers additional options for invoice payments. The portal will be built into the current administrative backend and will allow for authorized individuals to easily manage payments. We look forward to the build.


Coach and Equipment Meet With DSD Web Works - Web Asset Review

Leadership of Coach and Equipment met today to discuss a strategy going forward that will involve all web assets of the company going forward. DSD Web Works in a consultation role helped define objects and goals, strategies to help obtain those objects and goals and the specific actions to carry out the strategies. DSD Web Works will be in the role to help define a uniform consistency across all brands thus obtaining a synergy that will help market all aspects of the corporation. We look forward to future meetings that will review our visual concepts and outlining specific roles in accomplishing all objects and goals.


Hitachi Metals America SEO Contract

June 15, 2018

Today the Hitachi Metals America, Inc. (HMA) contracted with DSD Web Works to help with optimizing the Tool Steel content on the site. Part of the role of DSD Web Works in these SEO efforts will involve in identifying appropriate keyword phrases that are actually used in search. Once identified, current content will be rewritten to allow for the incorporation of these phrases and create legitimate content based on the actual products offered, the specific industries involved and the specific applications that the products are used in. Additional content will be recommended when appropriate. Once again, we look forward to working with the HMA team.


Hitachi Metals America Payment Portal Released

June 25, 2018

Today DSD Web Works and Hitachi Metals America, Inc. (HMA) released their new Payment Portal. The portal allows for an easy online payment option for all HMA customers. Integration with Stripe technology (fully PCI compliant) makes processing secure and seamless. The completed administrative backend allows for easy payment reconciliation with export options allowing for integration into in-house A/R software. The completed work met all required criteria as defined by the project description.


Coach and Equipment New Document Library

Today DSD Web Works released the new Document Library application as requested by Coach and Equipment, Inc. The application allows for the easy manipulation and organization of sales system documents. With control over defining infinite number of both document categories and subcategories, Coach & Equipment will be able to aid salespersons to easily obtain useful documents that help support their efforts on selling and configuring small and medium sized buses.


New Responsive Site Design Revealed for Coach Bus Parts

Coach Bus Parts and DSD Web Works met today for the revealing of the new Coach Bus Parts responsive web site design. Other changed included a more modern flair and easier navigation. In addition, all properties will be unified under common standards of branding which will help in all marketing efforts. The site design was enthusiastically endorsed.


Coach and Equipment Review New Manufacturing Site Concepts

July 24, 2018

New concepts for the manufacturing site of Coach & Equipment were presented today by DSD Web Works. The new concepts continue on an earlier theme used in the bus parts site. All Coach & Equipment web properties will now feature a uniform look and feel. Navigation across all properties will also be shared. In addition, site upgrades will all be responsive in nature... responding naturally to the size of the screen that one is viewing the contents on. Conclusion from the presentation was a full green light to begin the development phase of the new site which include a new, more robust content managed system.


Famous Brands Amazon Integration Application Released

July 30, 2018

Today Famous Brands begin working with a application that allows for the easy export of products from their in-house accounting software to a cloud based configuratior that arranges the data for appropriate and seamless Amazon integration. The new application, custom built by DSD Web Works, saves hours and hours worth of work that was previously manually done. The automation and ease of the script received multiple warm Thank You! from those who work in their IT/Digital platform department.


Hitachi Metals America (HMA) Administrative Upgrades

Today DSD Web Works released administrative upgrades for Hitachi Metals America (HMA). Additions to customer management including easy quick search of customers based on multiple independent criteria. The brand new Customer Review module allows for authorized HMA personnel to easily review and manage customers and associated online payments with those customers.


Finger Lakes Landlord Association August Review

August 7, 2018

Administrators for the Finger Lakes Landlord Association (FLLA) and DSD Web Works met today to review the current status of the application under development. The project is ahead of schedule and will begin real testing by a number of random members. Feedback from the test drivers will help finalize the various interfaces and functionality of the application and we look forward to a potential September 2018 release.


Famous Brands Ebay Integration Application Released

September 4, 2018

DSD Web works released a new software solution today that interacts with Famous Brands accounting software and Ebay. The new application allows for seamless one-click transfer of product data from the accounting software directly to the Ebay platform. The words we received after launch were: "I am very, very happy. This script works perfectly and will save us two people working 4-5 hours every day! Love it!". We were glad we could help streamline a routine process and seriously increase Famous Brands efficiency.


Finger Lakes Landlord Association Site Release

September 21, 2018

The much anticipated fully managed Finger Lakes Landlord Association (FLLA) website and full complement of rental management tools were released today. The application was completely custom built using an open source solution configured on a LAMP stack. A complete well designed database architecture was built that will allow for intuitive historical management of properties, tenants, tenancies, evictions, judgments and landlords throughout the Finger Lakes Region of Western New York. Landlord members can easily manage their properties and existing tenants as well has have document history on past tenants. Historical information can be shared from landlord member to landlord member. 

The heart of the application is one single member page that allows landlord members full access to all the functionality of the application. Extremely intuitive interfaces allow for quick learning of and benefiting from the many features. In addition, a fully modern, responsive presentation was created for Associate Members (Landlord related businesses and groups), non-members that would include potential landlord members and area tenants and a full rental site that allows for both the ease of posting rental availability within the Finger Lakes for both members and future rental residents. 

DSD Web Works worked very closely with association staff and members to custom design a robust application. All contributed to the success of today's launch.

Coach Bus Parts Site Release

October 10, 2018

Today Coach & Equipment and DSD Web Works released the newly designed Coach Bus Parts web site. The new site is now fully responsive (i.e. responds to any size screen seamlessly) and has a more modern flair. The site is a very active e-commerce site that is responsible for all bus parts sales for the organization. Proper steps were taken to transition from the old site to the new in order to maintain the very high rankings among search engines that the company has benefited from for years.

DSD Web Works looks forward to the long standing, continued relationship that we have built with this wonderful corporation whose origins began in 1895. We have been lucky enough to work with them since 2004. We have been involved in many different projects throughout the years including e-commerce applications, various APIs which allow for different systems to interact with each other, multiple web sites, document management tools and our latest project, the complete custom design of a bus configuration application.

Today members of LJH Management met with DSD Web Works to discuss the development of a custom CMS application to help manage their diverse property portfolio. Needs were assessed and explanation of our approach was given to help LJH make a decision on what direction they will pursue in regard to their digital footprint. Emphasis was placed on the development of custom management tools and marketing strategies.

Curtiss Museum Migrates to Office 365

November 21, 2018

Today Glenn H. Curtiss Museum migrated their email serves to Office 365. The new communication platform will integrate smoothly with the museum's in-house Microsoft products and enhance their collaborative efforts within the museum and with collaborative association. We are please to help in the migration which was successful and resulted in a smooth transition.


Cornell University - Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Compliance

November 30, 2018

Today representatives of Cornell University contacted DSD Web Works to take a lead on fulfilling the University's push for full WCAG 2.0 compliance. The University has numerous web assets and the request was to review all guidelines and direct adherence to those guidelines for a number of their web properties. The project is plan to begin in January of 2019 and result in full 2.0 compliance by the end of the year. We look forward to working with Cornell University once again and complete the project which will truly enhance accessibility for people with disabilities to a number of Cornell University web properties.


Coach and Equipment Manufacturing Site Released

December 12, 2018

Today DSD Web Works released the new fully responsive web site for the manufacturing division of Coach and Equipment. The new site is full of rich visuals that help portray the advanced manufacturing process used in constructing small and  mid-sized buses. Coach and Equipment has a long rich tradition of manufacturing buses and coaches that actually date back to the early 1900's. 

We have collaborated on many projects over the years with Coach and Equipment and were thankful for the opportunity to once again demonstrate our expertise is design and development on this latest project.
